The short version: the free crew check runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded, there are no accounts, and we don't use analytics, ads or cookies.
CrewMargin is operated by 1904889 Alberta Inc., Calgary, Alberta, Canada ("we", "us").
Your file stays on your device
When you choose a CSV file, your browser reads it and does every calculation right there in the tab. The check's code never sends the file or its contents anywhere, to us or to anyone else: the only things it asks this website for are the sample files and the export guide. The page's security settings also block connections, form posts, and image or font loads to any other website.
When you close or refresh the tab, or click "Clear everything", the data is gone. We don't keep a copy because we never had one.
What we don't collect
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking pixels or ads.
- No cookies, and nothing saved in your browser's storage.
- No fonts, scripts or images from other companies. Everything loads from this website.
The email box
The check has an optional box to unlock the full report with your email address. In this preview, the address is not saved or sent anywhere: it is only checked to see that it looks like an email, then cleared. If that ever changes, we'll update this page first and say so next to the box.
The sample report and export guide
"See a sample report" loads made-up example files from this website. "How do I export?" loads a help page from this website. Neither sends anything about you or your files.
Downloads
"Download results CSV" builds the file in your browser and saves it straight to your device. It doesn't pass through our servers.
Our web host
Like every website, ours runs on a hosting service that receives basic request details, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, so it can deliver the page and block abuse. We don't use these details to identify or track you, and we don't combine them with anything else.
If you email us
If you write to [email protected], we get your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use them only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list. Please don't send us your export files: the check never needs them.
